Program Quality

Hawai’i Community College has a plan in place for offering high quality, relevant CTE programs. The plan includes numerous documents, policies and procedures that insure the following occurs:

  • Perkins funds are allocated and used to develop, improve, and/or implement CTE  education on the island of Hawai’i
  • Perkins related activities focus on initiating, improving, expanding, and modernizing quality CTE programs
  • CTE programs of study include rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills
  • Programs, such as JumpStart and Early College, are available
  • Faculty and staff associated with CTE programs have access to relevant professional development activities
  • Program advisory councils are involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of CTE programs
  • CTE programs provide equal opportunities to individuals without discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, disability, creed, or age.
